The Internet Writer's Address Book for Academic Publishers

Academic publishers are a special breed. A writer should not even attempt to sell his or her manuscript to this type of a publisher unless he or she has the credientials to support the work, or has the real-life experience to back up the writing. Many demand close to perfection in even your beginning cover letters and sample chapters.

However, the good news is since these are mostly university presses, they do not always rely on the bottom line when considering a manuscript or manuscript idea. Sometimes, in this line of publishing, the quality of the writing can still mean more than the dollar signs.

Also, I will apologize ahead of time. Since this is the area of publishing in which I have the least amount of interest, some of the publishers listed below do not have a short synapsis. They will gain one, as soon as I have the time and energy to get the job completed. Or, if anyone out there would like to volunteer on one or more of the publishers, I would be more than delighted to list the information along with a byline.
